Poetry in April #Poem 7

I dragged him
By flap of his collar
Buried him
Inside pages of my book
He rattled on
To draw my attention
I stared briefly
At his script
He rolled into lit
Full range of words,
Monstrous words
Cynical words
Chocolatey words
Buttery, slippery words
Words that rhymed
Twisted without reason
Till cul-de-sac
He was a great raconteur
I fell into his trance
